Hone McGregor

Hone McGregor has been CEO of PINZ since 2004. In his role as CEO Hone oversees the executive management and operations of the Company, and acts as Project Sponsor/Director for significant contracts held by the firm. Prior to this Hone was General Manager at the New Zealand Qualifications Authority, tutor at Victoria University of Wellington, Reserve Debt Management Officer at the New Zealand Treasury Department, Manager at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the New Zealand Ministry of Defence, and a middle-school/intermediate teacher at SWIS. An exceptionally experienced international consultant Hone has worked in Australia, Bahrain, Brunei, Cambodia, Canada, Cook Islands, Fiji, France, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, New Zealand, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Philippines, Samoa, South Africa, Tonga, Thailand, Tuvalu, United Arab Emirates, United States of America, United Kingdom, Vanuatu, and Viet Nam.

Hone is a New Zealand Maori of Ngati Kahungunu, , Ngati Raukawa, Te Whanaui-a-Apanui, Te Atiawa and Ngati Rarua descent. Hone also holds directorships for various commercial companies and Maori development trusts. Hone is a trained private pilot.

Jo joined PINZ in 2005, has been General Manager – Corporate Services at PINZ since June 2007 and before this was Company Accountant. In her current role Jo is responsible for managing all aspects of business operations including Finance, Human Resources, Information systems and general administrative functions. In addition to ongoing business as usual operations, Jo and her team provide Project Office support functional expertise to all project teams. Before joining PINZ Jo worked in the IT services industry for five years in Finance and Human Resource functional roles and prior to this the construction sector. The common thread running through all of this experience is the provision of effective operational support to project based organizations.

Jo has also co-founded and directed her own company, taught Islamiyaat to children in the Wellington Muslim community and has two teenage children.

Mike Zino
General Manager Business Development

Mike Zino is General Manager Business Development for PINZ with an especial focus on developing markets in the Middle East region. Mike has been with the company for 15 months.

Prior to joining PINZ Mike has held executive and general management roles in Sales, Marketing and Operations for large corporate IT Services, Telecommunications and Retail Banking companies. He also has five years contract negotiation and international consultancy experience delivering sole provider management consultancy to large and listed corporations in Jordan, Dubai, Algeria, and Brazil as well as for large New Zealand corporations.

A former Tall Black, New Zealand Universities and provincial basketball representative as well as basketball coach Mike based in Wellington is a BA (Hons) graduate in Social Science and has a DBA (Marketing) both from Victoria University in Wellington, in addition to having completed a range of short form professional development programmes in project management, operational and executive leadership and development.


Brenda Lazelle
International Programmes Director

Brenda Lazelle is International Programmes Director at PINZ leading the Team that delivers many of our multilateral projects. She is responsible for and operates a policy of continuous improvement on PINZ project quality and management.

Brenda has a background in innovation, business development and education. She has worked as a business and investment manager in one of New Zealand's science research centres playing a significant role in the capture and commercialization of new knowledge in the institute. She went on to manage a business incubator working with start-ups in the biotech, IT and niche manufacturing sectors. Brenda's first training was as a teacher and she has held senior management roles at secondary level. She established and operated her own businesses in catering and business development consultancy. Brenda has an MBA (Dist).
