For the second year PINZ has sponsored a six week English language and cultural studies scholarship program at Christchurch’s CPIT, for eight students from the Bahrain Polytechnic
The program is funded by PINZ and is a collaboration between PINZ and Bahrain Polytechnic, which PINZ established under contract to the Bahrain government in 2008.
The candidates were selected from over 50 initial applications. The scholarships were established in 2009 in memorial to PINZ’s founding Chief Executive, Wayne Robertson, who led the company in its initial years.
The objective is for students at Bahrain Polytechnic, to undertake vocational education and English study in New Zealand at a PINZ shareholder institution.
PINZ’s Middle East office was involved in the selection committee that awarded the scholarships based on academic merit, actual or potential leadership qualities, contribution to the wider and polytechnic community and ability to represent Bahrain internationally as ambassadors. The calibre of applications was high, as in 2009.
The students complete the six week program on August 14th.
