For the second year running, at the 2009 annual Asian Development Bank (ADB) Performance Recognition Awards ceremony, the PINZ and Grontmij CarlBro-led TQI project received an award for outstanding performance in project implementation. Awards were made to the Project Director and the Teaching Quality Improvement in Secondary Education Project (TQI-SEP) team.
The TQI-SEP supports the Government’s plans to reform and modernise the secondary education teacher training system in Bangladesh. Besides improving the quality of learning in secondary schools through improved teaching quality, the Project also pursues policy, institutional, and systemic reforms required for sustainable development of teacher training. Programme Manager for PINZ, Michael Noble, highlighted that the ADB gave the award in recognition of Project Director, Md. Nazrul Islam, and his Team's excellence in efficiency, results orientation, transparency in procurement, effective project implementation and efforts to empower women among other criteria.
PINZ acknowledges the support of the clients, stakeholders, partners and the technical assistance and project management unit team working with the TQI-SEP for this repeat and outstanding performance in project implementation.
