PINZ to Develop Mutual Recognition Framework for Technical Skills and Qualifications in the Greater Mekong Sub region.
At the end of 2009, PINZ began work on a regional ADB technical assistance project which will develop and pilot a mutual recognition framework for technical skills and qualifications in the Greater Mekong Sub region (GMS).

The proposed framework, covering Cambodia, Lao PDR, People’s Republic of China (PRC), Thailand and Vietnam will allow governments, training institutions and the private sector across the sub region to more adequately assess the skills of migrant workers. This will enable targeting of national skills gaps by more effectively using migrant labour as a regional response to addressing these gaps in individual countries.

PINZ’ team leader, Mr. David Lythe, is a highly respected international expert in the area of qualifications frameworks. David will lead a team consisting of five Skills Development Specialists (one from each of the participating GMS countries) and an international TVET Programs Specialist.
