Wayne Roberston Scholarship Recipients
A group of 7 students, pictured with PINZ Middle East Office Branch Manager, Neville Menezes, and Bahrain Polytechnic CEO John Scott, departed Bahrain Polytechnic this month for Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology to commence a six week English language and leadership course. The students were the first recipients of the PINZ-funded Wayne Robertson Memorial Scholarships.

PINZ Chief Executive, Hone McGregor said the scholarships, a memorial to PINZ founding CEO (the late) Wayne Robertson, were an ongoing investment in the partnership between PINZ and the Bahrain Polytechnic, which PINZ established for the Bahrain Government.  In addition to establishment of the polytechnic there have been curriculum purchases from PINZ institutions, and the Polytechnic has also sent staff and students to separate training programmes at Christchurch and Otago Polytechnics. It has been an excellent project to establish this polytechnic, and with these PINZ scholarships for Bahraini students to take up in 2009 and 2010 it continues to be a strong working partnership, Mr McGregor said.
