After a successful pilot and growing interest from
constituents and donors, the ILO’s International Training Centre launches an
open course on Green Jobs.
This course will target first and foremost the primary
stakeholders in the world of work (trade unions, employers’ representatives,
government agencies such as Ministries of Labour. But also other stakeholders
such as Ministries of Environment, Ministries of Planning etc. who are looking
at the social and economic impact of climate change would be interested.
The course combines distance learning preparatory work
and follow-up support with a central face-to-face slot in Turin from 22 to 26
June. Cost of participation is €2,500, covering both tuition and subsistence
for the 6 weeks training event.
Focus will be on the socio-economic impacts of climate
change, with particular attention to the world of work. These impacts will be
studied in terms of adaptation and mitigation, while a consistent part of the
sessions will shed light on managing the transition towards a low-carbon economy
in a just and inclusive way. More information is available on our website
