Bahrain Polytechnic Official Opening
Bahrain Polytechnic was officially opened on 2 December by his highness the Crown Prince, Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.

With first classes already underway since September 14 it was a good opportunity to see the new institution in working mode.

In addition to the Crown Prince, the Deputy Prime Minister, education ministry officials and EDB officials the opening was attended by His Excellency Dr. Trevor Matheson the NZ Ambassador accredited to Bahrain (resident in Saudi Arabia) and also PINZ Chief Executive, Honѐ McGregor.

As recognition of the already forged and ongoing partnership between PINZ and the Bahrain Government, Mr McGregor announced the granting of 10 PINZ scholarships, five each for 2009 and 2010 for Bahrain Polytechnic students to attend English language training programmes at New Zealand Polytechnics.
