In conjunction with our Danish partner, Grontmij Carl Bro and several local Bangladeshi firms, PINZ implements the project and provides quality initial and in-service teacher training to all eligible teachers of grades 6-10 in both Government and private secondary schools.
At the January 29, 2009 ceremony in the ADB’s Dhaka office in Bangladesh, the TQI project was awarded for being one of the four best performing project teams (amongst 60+ projects) implementing ADB supported projects in Bangladesh in 2008.
“The awards were given recognizing the project teams’ excellence in efficiency, integrity, transparency in procurement, effective project implementation, achievement of targets, innovations, strong leadership, overcoming project start-up delays, efforts in women’s empowerment, and other criteria,” said ADB Bangladesh Director Paul J Heytens.
In August, the project warmly welcomed two new PINZ education experts. Taking over the PINZ team leader role was Viktor Jakupec. To the project he brings a depth of experience within the education sector, both as educator and consultant. Taking over the monitoring and evaluation and EMIS roles, Deborah Wyburn brings strong technical skills in design, implementation and training of educational monitoring and evaluation and EMIS tools.
