At this Vientiane, Lao PDR workshop, Skills Development Specialists from the participating countries (who are members of the PINZ team), as well as key Ministry staff from Laos, Vietnam and Thailand, were trained in competency-based assessment to support the assessment of the pilots. Training and coaching delivered through the PINZ project aims to ensure these countries have an initial cadre of qualified competency-based assessors, to promote sustainability and the future expansion of the piloted modality.
The Government-nominated focal officials from the region were also invited to attend the first day of the workshop. It is anticipated that at the end of the project, these focal point officials will sign a Declaration of Confidence in the Mutual Recognition Framework to facilitate cross border recognition. PINZ Qualifications Expert, Mr. David Lythe, leads this project and was able to brief them on project progress and seek their input on future activities. The workshop provided a forum for the focal points to meet together to discuss the mutual recognition framework and the future impact for the sub region.
