The meeting was held on November 7, 2011 at CIVTE’s offices in Beijing. Director General Wang Jiping - also D.G. of Vocational Education and Adult Education MoE - represented CIVTE at the meeting and Honè McGregor (C.E.O.) represented PINZ as signatories for the CoA. For information on the CoA please visit CIVTE’s official website, and follow the link to http://220.127.116.11/?view-99/.
It was noted that this UNEVOC-framed Cooperation Arrangement is a first for both of our countries. It will: provide opportunities to build connections between China institutions and New Zealand institutions; provide a framework for joint research projects; and provide an entry-point or gateway for linkages to each other’s UNEVOC agencies’ activities, including the possibility of consultancy, scholarships and institutional development.
PINZ is targeting opportunities for both countries to share inter-institutional exchanges and consultancies. CIVTE agreed that developing long-term relationships based on finding common interests in areas of mutual benefit will be the focus; where it needs to be based on both countries' specific interests. It is hoped that a CIVTE study programme to New Zealand will happen in early 2012.
